Import agent notes

Bring CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md and Cursor rules into mastermem.

As long as you have almost no memories, your agent offers in your first sessions to import the agent notes it finds:

  • CLAUDE.md, CLAUDE.local.md, ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md
  • AGENTS.md, GEMINI.md
  • .cursor/rules/, .cursorrules, .github/copilot-instructions.md, .windsurfrules

Say yes and it reads them, splits them into one memory per rule or fact and shows you the list. Nothing is written before you agree. Secrets are left out.

Start it yourself

In Claude Code run /mastermem:import. In any other agent say:

Import my agent notes into mastermem.

After the import

  • Notes about one repo get the scope of that project, notes about how you work get global.
  • Always-on rules wait in To confirm until you confirm them.
  • Your old files stay as they are. Delete them only when you no longer need them.
